Hi there, I'm Ashe.
Ashe de la June

After many years in IT tech support and web dev, I unexpectedly ventured onto a new path. Now I'm in my thirties and have a double degree in Earth Sciences! I am raising fowl, a goat, a horse, four cats and a husband. I spend my free time in the garden and with my animals. Currently, my long-suffering husband and I sleep with one of our cats in the bedroom with a young pullet in a cat cage on a shelf who refuses to sleep with the other chickens! It strangely works out. My husband is an aspiring author writer and often blogs a story about our lives on the farm etc.

I am passionate about chickens, cats, web design, blogging, Pinterest, sprouting seeds, taking cuttings and other gardening, trialling make-up and hair products, baking, writing stories, spinal disabilities, making things and offering all kinds of advice to people.

Being one who loves to read, TaintedBlood.org is an old URL I purchased in 2002, inspired by the Margaret Weis science fiction fantasy Star of Guardians series of novels. Jazhiaran and Ashe are the names of rpg characters I created in the 90s inspired by the Raymond E. Feist fantasy novels following Pug the magician.

My hair journey: solving the crunchy knot head of hair 20 months of hell & Ultra Organics product review

So, about two months ago I finally solved my hair problem. Well, it was indeed a water condition plus "protein containing conditioner" reaction. I had experienced this issue for 20 months.

It was so upsetting, the crunchy knots and frazzled hair shafts, taking 5 hours to finger comb. I am serious about the time it took. I was exhausted by the daily ritual and the money I was spending on tried and failed hairdresser fixes. I spent over $500 on products that didn't help.

Then I remembered a product that previously didn't do anything for my hair, back in Sydney when it was healthy. A product referred to me by an ex friend, whose mother swore by it. I decided to try it again. I don't even know why I bought it, but I wished I had 20 months ago.

This product took a lot of weight off my shoulders. I left it on overnight, then washed it the next morning and felt something I hadn't felt since it began.... My wet hair fell to my waist and swished softly.
I did something then that I had been unable to do in all that time: I combed my hair in the shower as the water poured over my head. All of my knots came out - some harder than others, but within 7 minutes my hair was knot free.

This photo is the day after I discovered my hair problem's solution.

My WET hair was KNOT FREE in 7 minutes by COMB. Not dry and deknotted by finger combing in 5 hours!

That day I went to the hairdresser I had lately been buying hundreds of dollars of products from everytime the seasoned-but-stumped-by-me hair veteran tried to help me.

Elated, I took that jar to her and expressed how good this stuff was and that she should sell it. She replied with "oh, that stuff." I wondered why she hadn't told me about it, when she knew about it, but I didn't ask. Her response was not friendly to my question of her selling it.
She obtained a sour look on her face and proceeded to tell me that although it is a fantastic moisturising product free of proteins, she would never suggest someone try it, and there's a very good reason why she doesn't sell it: it makes hair colouring harder to perform.  What utter bollocks.

My shock was held in check. But inside I was angry. She didn't tell me about this product because it would affect me colouring my hair? I had been so desperate as I had sat with her and sobbed about needing to cut my waist length hair off, and all she was worried about was my hair colour?
Did I look like I was going to cause more trouble to my hair by colouring it? No.

The reason she didn't suggest it was purely because she was getting so much money from me by having me try $55 bottles of this and that formula, instead of a $6 bottle of this amazing formula she didn't sell. She knew that this product would fix my hair woes, as she explained she had seen it work well before. Well, guess what Eastlands Lane Ridges Hair and Beauty Supply- you are never getting my business again you selfish woman. Yes, she owned the shop.

What product did I fix my hair troubles with? The fine people at Ultra Organics make two fantastic deep conditioning treatments with natural products, sourced from Australia, made in Queensland.
Their Clear  Henna Wax deep conditioning treatment functions as both my shampoo and my conditioner. It can look a little greasy if you don't wash it out well, but on those days a bit if talc rubbed through my scalp fixes that.

Both products smell fantastic and feel fantastic and does exactly what it says it will do.

It also "almost" lathers up, so it makes a good scalp cleaner instead of using shampoo. I've not had any problems colouring my hair with it... Even the purple I put through my hair last week went on without a problem. And it is lasting really well! In fact, so well I've had to use dishwashing liquid and lemon juice to get the colour out.

My only problem with it is that the ends if my blonde locks have absorbed the brown of the wax from leaving it on overnight, thus are looking brassy. But it is  worth it for what it has given me!

Thank you,  Ultra Organics! because of your fantastic product, I didn't have to cut my hair off.
