After many years in IT tech support and web dev, I unexpectedly ventured onto a new path. Now I'm in my thirties and have a double degree in Earth Sciences! I am raising fowl, a goat, a horse, four cats and a husband. I spend my free time in the garden and with my animals. Currently, my long-suffering husband and I sleep with one of our cats in the bedroom with a young pullet in a cat cage on a shelf who refuses to sleep with the other chickens! It strangely works out. My husband is an aspiring author writer and often blogs a story about our lives on the farm etc.
I am passionate about chickens, cats, web design, blogging, Pinterest, sprouting seeds, taking cuttings and other gardening, trialling make-up and hair products, baking, writing stories, spinal disabilities, making things and offering all kinds of advice to people.
Being one who loves to read, TaintedBlood.org is an old URL I purchased in 2002, inspired by the Margaret Weis science fiction fantasy Star of Guardians series of novels. Jazhiaran and Ashe are the names of rpg characters I created in the 90s inspired by the Raymond E. Feist fantasy novels following Pug the magician.

Came upstairs and noticed a juvenile white tail spider on my glass bricks up the stairs. Couldn't use spray on it because it was close to the spider who I have let live up here since January, and more importantly, I don't want the cats and I breathing in that poison.so, I used the water bottle spray I use sometimes to distract L from C's food because she is allergic, but a bit dumb. I watered that glass brick area so much, it leaked down through the wall (whoops) and brought my friend spider out. I didn't realize it was that spider as I was expecting it to be the white tail, and before I knew it, I had tapped it lightly once and killed it. So now I feel bad. Me and that daddy-long-legs-like spider had an understanding. It ate bush mosquitos and other spiders for me, and I let it live here. It did a great job. Until now. :-( It had even moved its living position seemingly knowing I was about to build a wardrobe, days before I did. Thoughtful spider!
I don't like killing things, and I only do it when I am protecting another. Buy that was a senseless death.
I bet that goddamned white tail survived.
Now I can't help but imagine if that massive huntsman who staggered inside the cat door and died the other day, had ran up here instead. My estimation of its size was taken by my father seeing it the next day saying 'jeez, that was one massive boy'. Lucky for me, that one died before it walked over my face at night. Or did it? Remember, I did say recently that just three morning prior I had awoken to feeling something walking on my arm, then C had flicked his own paw just near where the crawling had occurred....
