Hi there, I'm Ashe.
Ashe de la June

After many years in IT tech support and web dev, I unexpectedly ventured onto a new path. Now I'm in my thirties and have a double degree in Earth Sciences! I am raising fowl, a goat, a horse, four cats and a husband. I spend my free time in the garden and with my animals. Currently, my long-suffering husband and I sleep with one of our cats in the bedroom with a young pullet in a cat cage on a shelf who refuses to sleep with the other chickens! It strangely works out. My husband is an aspiring author writer and often blogs a story about our lives on the farm etc.

I am passionate about chickens, cats, web design, blogging, Pinterest, sprouting seeds, taking cuttings and other gardening, trialling make-up and hair products, baking, writing stories, spinal disabilities, making things and offering all kinds of advice to people.

Being one who loves to read, TaintedBlood.org is an old URL I purchased in 2002, inspired by the Margaret Weis science fiction fantasy Star of Guardians series of novels. Jazhiaran and Ashe are the names of rpg characters I created in the 90s inspired by the Raymond E. Feist fantasy novels following Pug the magician.

Duromine :: update :: 15kg loss!

Feeling good, people. I have lost 15kg - 7kg of which is due to Duromine's help, but probably mostly being outside gardening all the time and drinking heaps of Pepsi Max/Coke Zero/Mother Sugar Free (only a couple of calories) when I'm hungry. I have an Up n Go in the morning, and more often than not do not eat until night time.

This sounds very unhealthy, of course, but when I'm outside doing stuff, I don't really feel hungry. When I was younger I was slim, and never ever dieted.

My exercise was horse riding, running around the property, walking, and especially spending hours on the trampoline. I didn't NEED separate exercise, I always got enough from normal activity which were the above things.
'
This is the me from accurate memories, I used to eat like a bird when I was younger - and throughout my teenage years and beginning of my working years, I still didn't eat much. I didn't like food particularly much back then. Not until I met my first love/long term boyfriend. I ate little at work even just before my accident in 2007.

But, I did get hungry - I was actually gym and martial arts fit from mid 2004 through mid 2007. My metabolism was very fast, and once I had my accident and was at home all day - I was hungry all the time. But, not being able to get up without being in awful pain and my self-control kept me from eating what my metabolism desired.

More unhealthily though was, during my teen years, the fact that I could sit coding/gaming/designing at my computer from morning through evening without drinking anything. I drink a lot morewater  than I used to when I was younger.

My water drinking only became normal in mid 2005, where I was told water could help with cellulite reduction (it can't. Neither can exercise, weights, dieting or dead sea salt wraps.*)
I do not count Pepsi Max/Coke Zero/Mother Sugar Free as my liquid intake, but match each can with 330mL of water.

* Now, I know quite a bit about fitness. I was also [way too skinny] lean and muscled and man-like as I got from running 7km a night and doing too many heavy loaded weights, I never EVER lost my cellulite on my arse and legs. Not one bit. And I was a very unhealthy, bony ribbed 54kg with a lot of muscle.

During my working days I was reading every article from journals that I could on fitness and body fat. Not only that, but my experiences in the gym by myself and with PTs, and at martial arts training helped me a lot.

The only time I consider I rested at all in my nightly 2 hours at the gym would have been when I was stretching - and there was never any laying around doing nothing. I spent 60 mins a day walking fast to and from work, which included a fast paced, up and down steep hill roads walk every lunch time; at the gym I would not need to warm up because of my fast walk to the gym, I'd then run 30 mins on the treadmill, but instead of cooling down for an extra 5 mins, I would run as fast as I could on the treadmill (15km/h? It is hard to run faster on a treadmill - even one as big as at FF), 20 mins on a cross-trainer, 30 mins stretching, 30 mins doing weights - Mon, Wed, Fri were leg and abs; Tues and Thurs were arms, shoulders, upper back and abs, 10mins doing sit-ups on the sit-up bench slanted right down. And that was just the gym. Martial arts training was 3 times a week, so I'd do that of an evening and - Mon, Wed and Sat. I gymmed evenings when I wasn't at martial arts training; mornings when I was.

I would never have put more than 5kg on in a year if I had not been in a hell of a lot of pain physically, and mentally. My accident laid me up from 2007 until now, really. I push through the pain as best I can. But I cannot ride horses, dirt bikes, run, do weights, etc., again. :-( I cannot push myself hard anymore.

It is frustrating for me to be heavy, when new people I meet only see me for that. Those I knew before remember me like I was. I don't get hit on anymore. I don't even get looked at. Seriously, people. I was only 90kg for a couple of months - I started taking that weight off as soon as I got to Tassie. I was walking when in Sydney, though. Almost every night. But goddamnit, it isn't quickly enough. One kilo a month? I'm outside as much as I always was when I was younger - I should be getting thinner quicker than that.

I'm getting scared though - I run out of Duromine in 5 days. I will have to go to another doctor and beg for them to give it to me, too. I'm too scared to be without it until I get under 70kg. I have 15kg to go - only 10kg if I want to be above what I was when I was younger.
