Hi there, I'm Ashe.
Ashe de la June

After many years in IT tech support and web dev, I unexpectedly ventured onto a new path. Now I'm in my thirties and have a double degree in Earth Sciences! I am raising fowl, a goat, a horse, four cats and a husband. I spend my free time in the garden and with my animals. Currently, my long-suffering husband and I sleep with one of our cats in the bedroom with a young pullet in a cat cage on a shelf who refuses to sleep with the other chickens! It strangely works out. My husband is an aspiring author writer and often blogs a story about our lives on the farm etc.

I am passionate about chickens, cats, web design, blogging, Pinterest, sprouting seeds, taking cuttings and other gardening, trialling make-up and hair products, baking, writing stories, spinal disabilities, making things and offering all kinds of advice to people.

Being one who loves to read, TaintedBlood.org is an old URL I purchased in 2002, inspired by the Margaret Weis science fiction fantasy Star of Guardians series of novels. Jazhiaran and Ashe are the names of rpg characters I created in the 90s inspired by the Raymond E. Feist fantasy novels following Pug the magician.

Review of L'Oreal Mythic oil Milk

This is my unpaid review of L'Oreal Mythic oil Milk... and I just found out I was using the product wrong, by accident, showing me how it actually works. Well!

Normally I steer well clear of cruel, uneccesary animal testing companies (Proctor & Gamble who own Head and Shoulders, Pantene, Oral B, Duracell, Olay, Covergirl etc., then L'Oreal and others).  Those who know me how vehemently I actively spout on about animal cruelty and avoiding cruel farmed pig, chicken, and animal testing companies (Avon, I've found, DO test on animals - to sell their product in China they have to).

A little while back if you'll remember, after moving to tank water from city water of a different State, I was in desperate depression over my inability to brush my hair of horrid, all-encompassing knots (dreadlocks after one day), so I tried every product I could afford to try and remedy it.  This is the post hair products galore.

I finally purchased Activance with Rhodanide (something I know is good for hair from previous use) L'Oreal Mythic Milk and a Tangle Teezer brush.

Well, I never thought that the L'Oreal Mythic Milk product was doing anything.

In the shower, I use three conditioners ("shampoo" with Tresseme Salon Silk as I've done for years, then Matrix Biolage Detangling Conditioner, then Evo Mane Prescription), using my Tangle Teezer to help comb the final conditioner out of my hair.
Then I get out put a towel in my hair, press water out, then (much to my daily bad headache chagrin) take the towel off and head bang that water outta my haiiir for about 10 seconds.
After this, I use 8 sprays of Rhodanide mostly over my scalp and massage gently.
I then pump three squirts of Mythic Milk into my palm and rub my hands together, and gently massage it through the ends of my hair, finally putting remainder on my scalp.
In laziness, I'd then just let my hair air dry and not brush it again until it was dry.  I hardly ever blow dry my hair - maybe twice a year?  But I should brush it when it's damp.

Anyway, the other day I was trying out a "home" remedy for getting rid of hair colour (crushed mix of vitamin C tablets, chelating shampoo and dishwashing detergent).  It didn't work, but what it did do was tangle my hair into crunch crap knots.

  • So, I sprayed Rhodanide as usual, but put a heap more Mythic Milk in my hair...
  • then, which is important, I brushed my hair with my Tangle Teezer and fingers until I had no knots.
  • So I could go to bed, I waited until my hair was mostly damp with some areas still wet, then I plaited my hair and slept on it.

Next morning?  The softest freaking hair I've had since my last shoulder length hair cut!!!!  Frakking hell.  I couldn't believe it.

So, during last night's shower and drying routine, I did the same thing - this time using the suggested four pumps instead of the heap I put on yesterday, brushed it through (after about 15 mins of it being on my hair), waited til it was mostly damp, plaited it then went to sleep.  SAME thing - awesome condition and shine.

Every time I use the L'Oreal product, I think about the animals that were tortured to get that product on the market.  It makes me very upset.  I really hate that animals are tortured for the sake of human beauty and food - or just humans being the #### that they are.  So believe me, my use of this product did not come cheaply to me, emotionally.
