After many years in IT tech support and web dev, I unexpectedly ventured onto a new path. Now I'm in my thirties and have a double degree in Earth Sciences! I am raising fowl, a goat, a horse, four cats and a husband. I spend my free time in the garden and with my animals. Currently, my long-suffering husband and I sleep with one of our cats in the bedroom with a young pullet in a cat cage on a shelf who refuses to sleep with the other chickens! It strangely works out. My husband is an aspiring author writer and often blogs a story about our lives on the farm etc.
I am passionate about chickens, cats, web design, blogging, Pinterest, sprouting seeds, taking cuttings and other gardening, trialling make-up and hair products, baking, writing stories, spinal disabilities, making things and offering all kinds of advice to people.
Being one who loves to read, TaintedBlood.org is an old URL I purchased in 2002, inspired by the Margaret Weis science fiction fantasy Star of Guardians series of novels. Jazhiaran and Ashe are the names of rpg characters I created in the 90s inspired by the Raymond E. Feist fantasy novels following Pug the magician.

Tomorrow is the first day of the rest of my injured life.Today, I went through the traumatising process of getting a 30 day script for the weight loss drug Duromine. It was a trial. If it was bad enough getting Xanax for my condition, I can tell you Duromine wasn't fun. Actually, figuratively, this would have been more fun.

It's bad enough getting the Morning After Pill when you realise you forgot to take the pill last night, and had some riske intercourse. You're just being cautious, yet you get questioned by the pharmacist like you're an idiotic criminal. I got told by a nurse at my chosen GP office once that I should pay more attention and take my tablet when I should. Very rich, considering I was 24, told her I had been on the pill since I was 17, and took the tablet at the same time daily for all those years EXCEPT this one night where I had gotten confused by the new compact-layout of the blister pack. Seriously, the thing went from 15cm long with the pills around the edges, to snaking around the pack at around the 8cm mark. I am allowed to get confused. I'm allowed to slip up once in 6 years.

Anyway, back on track. After 40 mins with a doctor, a doctor consult with that doctor, a questioning pharmacist, and $100 later, I have a 30 day supply of the 15mg tabs, Duromine. Why am I going to be on this drug, you might ask? The shortest story is: Before 2007: martial artist, training to be a PT, fit, strong, 58kg, lots of muscle, feeling greattttttt. After 2007: motorcycle accident, shattered shoulder requiring two 6 hour long ops, three torn lower back discs, screwed up knees, depression, anxiety, lose job due to injuries, and lack of mobility, an SSRI, an SNRI and the pill = Ashe put on 30kg. BUT, I only put that weight on in the last year and a half, when I started on the SSRI/SNRI. I barely even eat. And before you get judgmental: you have no idea what pain I am in day in, day out.
I moved back from Syd to my Hrm Lhaaaand in Jan due to "awh ma gawd, zey tuk ma jerrrrrrb" (nah, I'm a poor student in my fourth year), and managed to lose 7kg, taking me to 82kg. But, I'm stagnant at 82kg now. I walk as much as I can in a day, totalling 40 mins and eat a lot better back home. Alas, increased pain levels and difficulties keeping up payment of my double dose of SNRI means I'm on a lower dose and in pain a hell of a lot more than I was. And barely coping with anxiety. Did I mention I also have really bad OCD and daily migraine headaches, not to mention severe eczema?
